Related structural principles of trailer concrete pump

Sep. 12, 2025

A concrete pump is a commonly used piece of construction equipment, primarily used to transport concrete. Its operating principle involves multiple key components and a complex hydraulic control system.

1. Pumping System Components

The concrete pump's pumping system primarily consists of a hopper, a mixing mechanism, a concrete distribution valve, a concrete delivery cylinder, a wash chamber, and a main hydraulic cylinder. These components work together to achieve continuous concrete delivery.

2. Concrete Delivery Process

1. Piston Movement

The concrete pump's pumping system is driven by an electric motor or diesel engine. When hydraulic pressure enters one main hydraulic cylinder, the piston rod extends, while pressure in the other piston rod retracts via the sealed circuit connecting pipe. This process ensures stable operation of the pumping system.

2. Self-Priming

When the concrete delivery piston connected to the main hydraulic cylinder's piston rod retracts, self-priming occurs within the delivery cylinder. Atmospheric pressure and the propulsion of the mixing blades draw the concrete in the hopper through the slide valve intake port and into the delivery cylinder. This process ensures continuous concrete delivery to the pumping system.

3. Concrete Extrusion

Under the action of oil pressure, the piston rod of the other main cylinder extends, simultaneously pushing the concrete piston to expel the concrete from the delivery cylinder. The concrete enters the concrete delivery pipe through the slide valve delivery port. This process completes the concrete delivery, allowing the concrete to be delivered to its destination.

4. Automatic System Reversal

After the action is completed, the system automatically reverses, allowing the pressurized oil to enter the other main cylinder, completing another suction and delivery stroke of a different delivery cylinder. This automatic reversal design ensures continuous operation of the pumping system and improves work efficiency.
