Three Daily Maintenance Tips for Pump Trucks

Feb. 28, 2026

Concrete Pump Truck Maintenance and Safety Operation Procedures

I. Daily Basic Maintenance
(Before Starting Work)

  1. Lubrication System Check: After pumping for about 5 minutes at the start of the day, check the four lubrication points inside the hopper and the lubrication condition of the wash-out chamber to ensure they are functioning normally.

  2. Safety Check: Verify that the outriggers are supported on solid ground and the entire vehicle is level.

(After Finishing Work)

  1. Wash-out Chamber Maintenance:

    • Drain all water from the wash-out chamber.

    • Clean the wash-out chamber.

    • Retract the pistons to inspect them for wear.

    • Re-tighten the rubber drain plug and add fresh water.

  2. Hopper and Vehicle Cleaning:

    • Promptly clean any residual concrete from inside the hopper and on the vehicle body.

    • Special Attention: Do not leave any cement in the死角 (blind spots/dead corners) inside the hopper, as this will cause significant difficulty in future cleaning.

II. Monthly Basic Maintenance

  1. Vehicle Greasing: Apply grease to the entire vehicle once a month. When greasing, continue pumping until clean grease is seen extruding from the joint, pushing out all the old, dirty grease.

  2. Structural Component Inspection:

    • Inspect the condition of the boom and outrigger limit pins.

    • Inspect structural parts such as the boom, outriggers, turret, and chassis frame for any cracks or other abnormalities.

  3. Wear Parts Inspection:

    • Check the cutting ring and wear plate for wear or excessive gap.

    • If wear is found, promptly rotate the cutting ring by 90° to extend its service life (potentially doubling it).

    • Check the inspection hole on the hopper stirring motor base for any signs of slurry leakage.

III. Annual Basic Maintenance

  1. Fluid Replacement: Replace the hydraulic oil, transfer case oil, and reducer oil annually.

  2. Performance Test: Conduct a comprehensive performance inspection and test of the entire vehicle once a year.

Additional Note:
Chassis maintenance is also very important. Please ensure timely maintenance is performed on the chassis as well.

Basic Safety Precautions

  1. The pump truck must be supported on firm, solid ground. Do not support it over cavities (such as sewers, manhole covers, etc.). When supporting with outriggers, ensure the entire machine is level and not tilted.

  2. Only operate the boom after the outriggers are properly extended and supporting the vehicle. Only retract the outriggers after the boom has been completely folded and secured.

  3. No one is allowed to stand under the boom while it is being deployed to prevent safety accidents.

  4. The pump truck must only be driven on roads after the outriggers and boom are fully retracted and all four outriggers are securely locked to prevent safety accidents.
