Repair Methods for Concrete Pump Truck Tires

Apr. 08, 2026

For concrete pump trucks, tire quality is directly related to driving safety. However, when operating in areas with poor road conditions, tires are prone to scratches from foreign objects and sharp debris on the road, which compromises driving safety.

In addition, high temperatures in many places during summer pose a major challenge to tires under hot working conditions. High temperature not only shortens the service life of tires but may also cause tire blowouts. How should we repair small cracks or damages on pump truck tires?

Repair Methods for Concrete Pump Truck Tires

01 Apply tire repair glue and let it air dry. Attach rubber and cord fabric to the inner side of the tire, then compact firmly to prevent air from being trapped.
02 Select a repair tire bladder matching the size of the concrete pump truck tire. The outer damage of the tire must be stitched, and then filled with unvulcanized repair rubber. Note that the unvulcanized repair rubber should be filled 2–3 mm higher than the tread surface.
03 Use a tire spreader to expand the concrete pump truck tire. Dust the bladder with talcum powder or wrap it in a woven bag, then insert it into the tire. Place the upper mold, add a steel plate between the upper and lower molds, put a rubber plate above the bladder, then install a protective iron plate for the bladder and a pressure plate, and fasten the lead screws.
04 Tighten the lead screws on both ends to compress the tire firmly. Ensure the tire fits closely with the mold. If not, loosen the lead screws and pressure plate and readjust.
05 Cut off excess rubber produced during vulcanization to ensure a smooth and flat tread surface.
