Maintenance Specifications for Concrete Pump Truck Boom
Jun. 08, 2026
1. Routine Visual & Component Inspection
Inspect the connecting flanges between the front and rear axles of the chassis and the transfer case, as well as the fixing bolts of the transfer case to ensure no loosening.
Check the tightness of all connecting bolts and sealing parts.
Examine the boom support base for cracks. Focus on inspecting the slewing bearing and slewing gear to guarantee their integrity.
Check the wear condition of all connecting pins to prevent cracks at joints caused by excessive clearance.

2. Bolt Tightening & Torque Maintenance
Regularly check connecting bolts, set screws, nuts and pins. Retighten loose fasteners with a torque wrench in accordance with specified torque values.
Bolts of the slewing bearing bear severe alternating loads, which will gradually reduce the pre-tightening torque. Periodic torque inspection is mandatory:
For new pump trucks: Conduct the first inspection after 100 working hours;
For in-service vehicles: Reinspect every 500 working hours thereafter;
Inspection requirement: Rest the boom on supports to eliminate axial force on the slewing bearing.
Operation rules for bolt tightening: Fully fold the boom and keep it vertical to avoid tensile pre-stress on bolts. Lock all lock nuts after tightening the turntable bolts.
High-strength bolts removed for structural repair or damaged due to fatigue shall not be reused. Replace them with new bolts of the same grade during reassembly.
3. Structural Component Flaw Detection & Crack Treatment
Load-bearing structural parts including booms, outriggers and underframe supports are prone to cracks due to variable loads, stress concentration, corrosion and metal fatigue. Weld seam flaw detection for these components is required every 300 working hours.
Cracks on structural parts are repairable and shall be dealt with promptly once detected. Booms and outriggers are made of high-strength steel. Unauthorized welding or drilling is strictly prohibited, as such operations will compromise structural strength. Send the vehicle to a professional repair shop immediately if any cracks are found.
